This site began as a simple idea: the photographs of Rafael’s journey deserved more room than a printed page could give them. In print they are small and few. Here they can be large, and there can be many.
But once we started building, it grew into something more. A place to tell the parts of the story that did not fit between the covers. A place to gather the notes and messages readers have sent. A place, we hope, where someone in the middle of their own hard season can find a hand to hold.
